Longview, Washington – April 2, 2026 – The Health Care Foundation is a local organization, founded to perpetuate the community’s investment in the Monticello Medical Center. From its inception in 1984 over $13 million have been distributed to local health care organizations.

The Health Care Foundation has awarded their 2026 grant awards totaling $556,048 to the following community recipients and programs:

  • Children’s Community Resources: $120,000 to improve access and increase community capacity of integrated pediatric medical and mental health care for local underserved, at-risk children.

  • Children’s Discovery Museum: $20,000 for the “Teachable Moments” program, which is designed to expand programing and exhibits, expand educational play and strengthen family bonds and enhance exhibits and infrastructure.

  • Cowlitz Free Clinic/Community Health Partners: $160,000 to support operations of the Cowlitz Free Medical Clinic providing urgent medical care and short-term management of chronic care to uninsured adults in the Cowlitz County community. Additionally, funds will be used to provide dental and denture care to their clients.

  • FISH of Cowlitz County: $56,000 to provide emergency health care and food for clients within our community.

  • Lifeworks: $30,000 for the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van for transporting individuals of all disabilities.

  • Lower Columbia CAP: $50,000 to support development of the Catlin & Main Affordable Housing Project.

  • Lower Columbia School Gardens: $25,000 to support the “Lower Columbia School Gardens Education and Food Distribution Project”.

  • PeaceHealth: $55,048 to support the “Enhanced Surgical Care- Close to Home Project”.

  • Youth and Family Link: $40,000 to support the “Link Transport to Health and Services Project”, for the purchase a 12-passenger van dedicated to client transportation for clients within the community.

  • Out of Cycle: $29,911.75 grant awarded to Emergency Support Shelter for Shelter Fire System Renewal.
