The Health Care Foundation’s mission is to promote the physical and mental health of the people living within our community.  Every year the board of director’s awards grants to local non-profit agencies who provide needed services. The Health Care Foundation is proud to announce our 2018 grant awards totaling $367,513.00 to the following recipients and programs.

  • Cowlitz Free Clinic:   $60,000 to support operations of the Cowlitz Free Medical Clinic providing urgent medical care and short-term management of chronic care to uninsured adults in the Cowlitz County area.

  • Cowlitz Free Clinic:   $25,000 to support operations of the Cowlitz Denture Dental Program providing dentures for uninsured adults in the Cowlitz County area.

  • Emergency Support Shelter – $10,000 to purchase a van for clients of the Hope Project and the Crime Victim Advocacy Program to assist with transport services to medical, legal and other appointments.

  • FISH of Cowlitz County:   $55,500 to assist needy community members to pay for emergency prescriptions, dental care and some medical services.

  • Lifeworks:  $2,500 to provide health training equipment for quality healthcare for children and adults experiencing an intellectual or development disability.

  • Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation of Cowlitz County:  $10,000 to provide vision and hearing care for low-income and homeless people in our community.

  • Longview Parks and Recreational Foundation:  $5,300 to help fund an upgrade to the kitchen/multi-purpose space at the Boulevard Teen Center.  The center provides “Life Skill” activities including sewing, budgeting and cooking.

  • Lower Columbia Action Program:  $85,000 to support a recuperative care program that provides acute and post-acute care for people experiencing homelessness and who are too ill or frail to recover on the streets.

  • YMCA of Southwest Washington:  $26,333 to support the “Access to Health Education and Lifestyle Change Support Program”, through the YMCA Integrated Health Care Programs.
